About Us
The Melbourn & District photoclub was founded in the early 1970’s and has provided local photography enthusiasts with both formal and informal events and training for over five decades.
We hold weekly meetings on a Tuesday evening between 7:30 – 9:30 pm at Foxton Village Hall during the autumn and winter season (September to March). For the indoor meetings we have a varied programme of events, including club and inter-club competitions, talks / lectures on all aspects of photography and practical evenings. Although the weekly sessions are suspended during the Summer months, individual club members organise various outdoor Summer events that provide interesting subjects to photograph.
As well as these formal sessions, the club prides itself on the informal and friendly exchange of information and expertise between the club members. We have a diverse membership with roughly equal numbers of men and women and levels of expertise ranging from advanced to beginners. For more information take a look at the Club Programme page on this website.
If you are interested in hearing more about the club, particularly if you live in North Hertfordshire or Cambridge area, and would like to come along, contact us at melbournphotoclub@hotmail.com. Alternatively, why not just drop in for a chat at one of our evening meetings at Foxton.
Melbourn Photographic Club is a member of the East Anglian Federation of photographic societies and, through them, is affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain.
