Member’s Privacy

 

On joining the Melbourn and District Photographic Club (Cambs, UK) a member of the club committee will ask for basic information on contact details, current camera / software used and current level of expertise / areas of photographic interest to you.

This information is used solely for communication purposes, keeping track of membership fees for accounting purposes and to help the club tailor an interesting and informative programme for the benefit of its members. All contact details are kept securely by the committee, are not circulated beyond that group and are not available on the club website or club programme.

The only email address available to the public via the club website or club event advertising is the anonymous club email address which is monitored daily by the Club Secretary. The Secretary will filter out all junk email and forward any pertinent messages on to the relevant club / committee member.

Although the status of the Club exempts it from formal notification under the Data Protection Act 1998, we do abide with the guiding principles of the act listed below.

All information collected on members is:

1. Fairly and lawfully processed;
2. Processed for limited purposes;
3. Adequate, relevant and not excessive;
4. Accurate;
5. Not kept longer than necessary;
6. Processed in accordance with the data subjects’ rights;
7. Secure
